Six Pack Challenge!!!! (VIDEO 4): https://youtu.be/s-FoBoKXcGs
I’m back after quite some time away from my blog. I have not posted here in a long time. So much has happened since I last blogged! I write for a newspaper now and hold the position as President of JCI Donegal. I am also the client account manager of a web solutions company called MeanIT and every other spare minute is spent on my campaign and training when I can. I kind of forgot about my blog until recently and now feel bad for neglecting it! If you would like to catch up with my goings on you can do so here.
I thought I would ease myself back in by outlining the things I have been up to lately and the many ideas and musings that float around in my head! Enjoy..
Training Twice In One Day- What Was I Thinking!
Yesterday (Tuesday,16th June,2015) was an active day training wise. I had a one-on-one training session with my coach Neil Barrett at 2:30pm then I was back in at 6:30pm for an open class. I had quite a bit of work on yesterday outside of training so I was on the go all day. I woke up this morning in the same position I was in last night. I must not have moved a muscle the entire night! I was in quite a bit of pain when I woke up. Not hip, but muscle pain! I don’t actually mind that too much as I know I must have done something beneficial. I am going away for a few days next weekend so I want to get as many sessions in before I go. I know I won’t do a thing while away so a few extra sessions before I go will make up for it. I have been feeling tired lately and put it down to both work and training. My body is in dire need of total relaxation and the thought of a few days away is heavenly.
Building The Brand
Although Fighting Fit For Ewing’s is an awareness campaign, it shares many characteristics to that of a business. One of the shared elements is branding and its importance. I have been learning quite a bit about this over the past year or so. Thanks to my sponsors ‘All Sports’ in Donegal Town I had my training clothes branded with my logo as you can see in the attached photo. I have had numerous enquiries as to what FFFE is after people spotted the logo on my clothing and it has helped the campaign greatly. I have no problem acting as a walking advertisement because I see the value in it. I recently bought a new car and plan to decorate it also:)
I have spoken publicly about cancer and FFFE many times and thanks to my time with JCI (Junior Chamber International) I am more comfortable on stage now and have some exciting speaking opportunities coming up which I will share with you closer to the time. I also plan to give talks to cancer teens undergoing treatment as I feel they would benefit from my experience. I was in their shoes and know how scary and overwhelming it is.
I have chosen my latest challenge and if it goes ahead it will be my scariest yet! I cannot wait to share it with you all in the coming days so stay tuned!
